Children's Orchard

Over the weekend I set out to buy Luke some new clothes. The boy has grown out of his 2T pants overnight! My usual suspects for this type of trip are Target and Old Navy, sometimes Kohl's, but this time I stopped to check out Children's Orchard. They're a small chain of children's consignment stores and luckily for me the NC location isn't far from my house.

As soon as I walked in I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Well organized and well-labeled - a must for consignment and thrift stores! - I walked right to the Boys' 3T section. All the clothes were in good condition, most pieces were $3 or less, and they had many of the big brands - Carter's, Gymboree, Osh Kosh, Children's Place, and more. I loaded up with t-shirts, shorts and pants - all elastic waist since we're potty-training - and now we're all set for spring and summer! The damage to my wallet? Only $60 for 8 tops and 9 bottoms! OK, I stopped at Target to get a few more things, but this was the bulk of it.

I cruised around the other departments - newborn/infant, shoes, toys, travel gear - but didn't buy anything. I didn't spend much time looking at girls' clothes, but the selection seemed to be just as good as boys' clothes.

I'll probably try selling some items once I know we're done with them, but I'm going to hoard all my baby gear and clothes until we close up shop. You never know what you'll need again. In the meantime I'll definitely be going back and you should, too!

Note: This is not a sponsored post. I just really liked shopping here!

  1. Nothing warms my heart quite like consignment shopping. Good find! I have added this to my pre-mommy notebook (fictional). -Crystal
