Fall Fun

We've been doing all sorts of fun things to get in the fall spirit!

Last Saturday we visited a pumpkin farm near our house where we got a big pumpkin for carving, and a "Luke-sized pumpkin" for our little guy.

The next day we went to the State Fair where we rode rides, ate fried food, and cheered on the racing pigs. Of course Luke's favorite parts were the petting farm - we went through twice - where he actually touched the animals this year (unlike last year) and the waterfall fountain, which isn't technically part of the fair since it's on the fairgrounds year round.

The following Thursday was my birthday so Luke got in some quality time with my Granddaddy at the Cheesecake Factory.

On Saturday I threw myself a birthday party, complete with a pony keg, and Luke was kind enough to help me set it up.

By Sunday it was high time we carved our pumpkin if we wanted a jack-o-lantern for Halloween night. Luke helped dig out the guts (not really) and then took a seat inside the freshly cleaned pumpkin.

I'll be back in a few days with pics of Luke in his costume. Here's a hint: he'll be super cute!

Funny Friday - Oct 26

After some requests from friends and family, I've decided to make Luke Conversations a weekly thing. Since I adore alliteration (see what I did there?) I've named it Funny Friday. Here's the latest and greatest from my little guy...

#1
Dickory, dickory, dock. Mickey Mouse ran up the clock.

#2
anytime I leave the house and Luke stays behind
Bye Mommy! Have fun at the grocery store.

#3
we sing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star together
That's a silly song, Mommy.

#4
I had to clean out Luke's nose, because that's what parents do, and one piece was very stubborn
These boogers are sticky!

#5
talking about the pumpkins we got at the pumpkin farm
There's Luke's little pumpkin, Mommy's bigger pumpkin, and Daddy's really bigger pumpkin.

#6
pointing to a globe
It's an earth!
not 'a' earth but 'an' earth - so proud!

Luke Conversations

#1
I take off Luke's pajama pants and diaper to get him dressed.
There's a wee-wee inside!

#2
Me: What does a crocodile say?
Luke: Tick-tock, tick-tock.
he's a big fan of Peter Pan

#3
I come home and I'm wearing the now ubiquitous bubble necklace
There's a paw print! Blue's clue on Mommy's necklake!

#4
I get Luke dressed and put him in a shirt he's never worn before.
We're wearing a new shirt.

#5
taking a walk
Luke: There's a hole!
Me: No, that's a culvert.
Luke: There's a culvert hole!

#6
Brush my hair, brush my hair!
I brush his hair.
All handsome.

#7
Luke is standing on a stool, trying to pee standing up. I am trying to hold him so that is stream flows to the lake, so to speak.
Luke: You're holding it.
Me: What?
Luke: Don't hold my butt!
